Bamboo shoots (25,May,1996)

I was born in Sibata_machi, which is located in 30km south of Sendai. "Machi" means town in the Japanese language. The town is very famous for its cherry trees. There are over one thousand of cherry trees along the bank of Shiroishi river, and many people come to the town in the best cherry blossom season: Spring.
On 18 May, I went to my parents house in Shibata_mach. Then I found many fresh bamboo shoots in the porch. I understood that it was the season of bamboo shoots. My mother said to me how about some. These looked nice. So I took some of them.
Anyway, do you know that you can get fresh bamboo shoots in Malaysia? I went to Cameron highland in last August. On the way, I saw some orang asri, who are the actual native, selling fresh bamboo shoots. They gathered them in near forest. The bamboo shoots were bigger than these of Japanese, but soft.
In Japan, it had continued cool days even in May. So the rice-planting had been put off. But the next day, it got hot. On the way to Sendai, I saw paddy fields. In most of them rice-planting was finished. I hope that we can have a rich harvest.
