Wakamiya-Hachiman shrine(Kawasaki-Daishi station on Keikyu Daishi-Line)

 At present, it is a grand festival at Kanayama shrine 
which is emigrating into Wakamiya Hachiman shrine.
 The god body of this shrine is the penis to have been 
made of metal which is called "Kanamara-sama".

 In the old days, the festival is called " Jibeta festival 
in Daishi ", it is said to be the one that the women at 
Kawasaki inn celebrated spring, doing song dance music, 
making food from edible wild plant and gathering to the 
flower viewing.
Around 1930, as for the festival, it seemed that it wanted 
to be obsolete but after the Pacific war, the researcher 
and the worshipper from the foreign countries got to come 
this shrine. After that around 1980, "Kanamara-Kou" was 
made and reproduced a festival and became the present one.

 The rice cake and the Japanese radish which modeled a 
penis are placed on the precincts, and the person gathers 
from the foreign countries, too, and an entertainment 
rally and so on are done.
 There is " Menkake-Gyouretu " in one of the events of 
the festival. The visitor from the foreign countries puts 
the Kimono and armor etc. and there is a parade with three 
pieces of MIKOSHI.
" Elizabeth MIKOSHI " which is conspicuous in the pink is 
shouldered only by new half type woman (?) and the woman 
wrapping person. Wow!
